September is Life Insurance Awareness Month
Have you thought about life insurance lately? Only about half of Americans own life insurance and even less know the specifics of what their policy entails. Maybe you haven’t thought about this in a long time or maybe you’ve never really thought about it before, but now is the perfect time to start because September is Life Insurance Awareness Month. This is an entire month dedicated to educating you on the importance of life insurance and the ways in which it can provide financial protection to both you and your loved ones.
A Brief History of Life Insurance Awareness Month:
Life Insurance Awareness Month was established in 2004 by the nonprofit Life Happens. Their goal? To help people across the nation learn and feel empowered to have conversations surrounding life insurance.
We know these conversations are not always easy. No one wants to think about the risk of leaving loved ones behind. That is why these are conversations we approach with care and empathy, because protecting you and your loved ones is something we take seriously.
A Look At The Facts
According to the 2021 Insurance Barometer Study conducted by Life Happens and the Life Insurance Marketing Research Association (LIMRA), life insurance ownership declined last year to 52%. In that same study, it was concluded that 42% of people believe they would struggle financially within six months if a primary wage earner died. The scariest statistic, however, is that 1 in 4 of people surveyed said they would struggle within just one month. This is why we are so passionate about helping you not only get a life insurance policy but feel confident that the coverage you have will help provide peace of mind to your loved ones if the unthinkable happens.
