How often should I review my Prescription Drug Plan?

Prescription drug costs can change from year to year.   Pharmacies that were once “in network” for your drug plan, often go “out of network” or vice versa.   Prescription drug changes can affect the monthly cost of your stand alone drug plan, or PDP.

Each of these reasons are why we highly recommend reviewing your stand alone drug plan (PDP) or your Medicare Advantage plan every year.

This review is a simple and quick appointment that consists of a mere phone call.  But this short review has the potential to save you a considerable amount of money.

From October 15th to December 7th each year, during the Annual Election Period, we are able to review your full medication lists, your preferred pharmacy to work with and tailor your plan that best suits your needs.  Often, you are already right where you should be and nothing needs done for the following year.  However, just one medication change or a pharmacy that relocates can change which plan is the best fit for you.  A quick review is all it takes to avoid issues in the future.
