What is a Personal Umbrella Insurance Policy?
Hey everybody, it’s Cameron with Frost Insurance.
The question that I want to answer today is, what is a personal umbrella policy?
The easiest way to answer is that it is an additional policy that you carry that would respond if something happened and your homeowner’s liability or your auto liability was not sufficient enough to cover the damages that you were legally liable for.
We at Frost Insurance & Beck Insurance always recommend that our customers purchase an umbrella policy.
An umbrella policy is something that is very inexpensive compared to other forms of insurance and for me personally, it is peace of mind. If something does happen, such as a serious car accident – maybe you go left to center or you fall asleep at the wheel – it is there to pick up the rest of your legal obligation.
Going without this valuable coverage, you risk paying pocket.
Which is why we always recommend an umbrella. Simply put, it is an additional liability policy in excess of your home and auto policies.
